Straight-Up Q&A featuring S&L Rider, Brittany Wood

Hailing from Southern California, Slow & Low Babes Ride Out 7 Rider, Brittany Wood has an effortlessly cool and adventurous spirit. We had the pleasure of connecting with Brittany this month to discuss three things she can't live without, what she likes to eat; stepping out of her comfort zone. Read about this and more in our exclusive Straight-Up Q&A with Brittany below. Be sure to check-out her Babes Ride Out packing list; and follow/listen to her S&L x BRO road trip playlist on Spotify

Q: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

A: I’m a 30-year old Gemini, vegetarian, born and raised in Southern California, sharing a bed with my 7-year old miniature pinscher, named Pizza.

Q: How long have you been riding motorcycles? What kind of bike do you currently ride?

A: I believe it’s been something like 6 years at this point? I ride a cute little Sporty and a TTR250 dirt bike.

Q: How would you describe the women's motorcycle culture? What makes it special?

A: I think we can all agree that as an adult, it’s very difficult to find friends that actually ‘get you’. I have friends from all walks of life, from people I’ve known since high school, to those I randomly became friends with at a bar. However, when it comes to my friends I’ve met through motorcycles, Babes Ride Out specifically,  they’re truly the best. We love doing the same things, and also are very independent. I think the one thing that’s very special about riding is you can spend time with someone for long spans of time (like a 9-hour motorcycle ride), and not speak a single word.

Q: With Babes Ride Out this October aside, what are you most excited about right now?

A: Spending time with the friends I only get to see during these types of camp-outs. We’re all so busy with our own lives, and I love and respect that so much - I’m literally ALWAYS busy. But I really love the fact that I can always count on seeing friends from all over the world in this one confined space, and actually spend time with each other doing something we both love.

Q: What are the three things you can’t live without?

A: My dog, my bikes (I know this is such a cliche answer, but I honestly don’t know what I’d do without them? I hate brunching, and I hate clubbing...Honestly, I would probably be so bored if I didn’t ride), and WiFi.

Q: In your opinion, is it better to be Slow & Low or High on Rye?

A: I’d rather keep things Slow & Low, if we’re going to be honest. (There’s a joke in there, somewhere.)

Q: What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve done in your life?

A: Stepped out of my comfort zone, and decided to race my dirt bike, knowing I wouldn’t be good at it OR fast, to begin with.

Q: What’s heavily played on your music playlist right now?

A: It sways between straight-up trap music and emo girl pop...like my moods.

Q: The road less traveled or the path of least resistance?

A: I feel like  I want to say that I’d take the path of least resistance, but I’ve lived with myself for 30 years now, and I know that I always end up taking the road less traveled, and then I get lost. Then something breaks. Then I’m stranded and need to get a hotel room at Motel 6. Life is fun!

Q: What’s next for you?

A: I’m headed to Nipomo for the Born-Free Sportsman’s Cup, where I’ll be doing my third flat track race.
